Having seen "Star Wars" when it was first released back in 1977, I was stuck by how strong and believable Leia was wedged in between Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford. That was solely due to the strength of Carrie Fisher and her ability to show that women weren't just playthings, but women of substance who could do anything including go toe-to-toe with a man on his terms. I was not only saddened by Carrie's passing, but taken aback that someone who'd played such a pivotal part in my life throughout the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s was suddenly... gone. Thank you Carrie and Debbie for your humor and your grace. You will not be forgotten, rather celebrated by those of us who remember you and the marks both of you have left in our hearts, and our souls. To Todd and Billie, and of course Gary.... love and hugs.

Carrie, you brought so much happiness and love into the world that the world seems like a darker place without you in it. I will cherish your movies, the memories and what an amazing person you were. You are so missed.
