Rebel Princess | A Carrie Fisher TributeA Carrie Fisher Tribute

Welcome to Rebel Princess, A Carrie Fisher Tribute Fansite. I've been a fan of Carrie for 40 years as an actress, an author, and as a mental health advocate. My heart broke when she died last year. She was bigger than life, so witty and smart, so outspoken and powerful, a spirit burning brighter that the stars. A true hero to us all.

This site is a current work in process. I intend to have it as complete as possible but it will take some time so please follow our social media for updates. And drop by the memorial page to leave your thoughts about Carrie.

ET CANADA – When the stars of two of science fiction’s biggest franchises join forces, anything is possible — even replacing Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a star honouring the late Carrie Fisher.

Mark Hamill first floated the idea after vandals trashed the president’s Walk of Fame star, leading to Hollywood City Council voting to remove the star.

Amidst the fracas, the “Star Wars” actor had a genius idea, suggesting Trump’s star be replaced with one paying tribute to “someone who really earned it.”

A week later, the star of an entirely different sci-fi franchise chimed in.

“Hey @starwars,” tweeted “Star Trek” star William Shatner, asking if it was true that Fisher does not have a star, and wondering “what are we going to do about it?”

In subsequent tweets, Shatner says that he’s reached out to a member of Fisher’s family to see if there are “any issues” before pursuing the idea any further.

In any case, there may be a bit of a wait before Fisher could even receive a star.

According to the Walk of Fame’s website, only one posthumous star is granted each year, with a five-year waiting period after the death of the nominated star; presuming Fisher (who passed away in late 2016) is nominated and is then granted a star, the earliest it could happen would be 2021.

Hamill received his star on the Walk of Fame in March 2018, while Shatner was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1983.
